i have fallen very badly off the lenten wagon. My excuse was so laughable. Cliodhna's presence did not mean in any way that i should eat chocolate n stuff. But we had to stock up on nice biccies n things, cos y'know, for the visitor. Then we found curly wurlys in a shop down in the Beach so i bought some. Then we went and saw maple syrup being made yesterday so i had a bucket load of that practically straight from the tree (do natural sugars count i wonder?) And mum told me on the phone earlier that she's sent me a little easter package, bless her cotton socks. She should have kept it secret though and i'd have thought the easter bunny was around. So Mark will be off in Chicago easter wkend and i will be sprawled on the couch with chocolate all over my face and rubbed onto the throw and my belly will be massive and he will come back to a big fat girlfriend but he wont mind.
maple syrup making rocks. Farmer Don & Farmer Mel showed us how they do it in their Sugar Shack, its deadly, a really really simple process. I have some photos of Farmer Don he was deadly. He kept ladling the syrup out of its vat thing and pouring it back in from really high up, doing big appreciative sniffs and going 'mmm, oooo, ahh' n all and then told us that he did that when there was no one there as well. And apparantly on thursday (its mid term) they'll have loadsa young kids out there, and they put green stuff in some bottles and tell them that on st patricks day the sap runs green, which i though was very cute. they're fairly into their patricks day here. there was a parade yesterday but we missed it while we were off at the maple syrup farm.
Then we went to the McMichael Gallery to see their big Group of Seven artists collection where we got in free by accident. They are deadly, I'd seen a bunch of their stuff in the AGO (Art gallery of Ontario) aswell, i dont know why i'd never heard of these lads before. Probably cos im a very casual art appreciator i suppose.
time for mark to take over the computer now so i might go wash my greasy mane

Glad to know I'm not the only one who has broken my lenten resolution. I was planning to go to mass every sunday in lent (except Palm Sunday - I couldn't fathom sitting through the long gospel), but I had to miss out last Sunday to prepare for the baby shower I was hosting.
So have you got back on the 'no-chocolate' wagon. You know you can eat it on St Patrick's day anyway
I too have tumbled from the wagon of righteousness into the dust. The chocolate eating reached its height on Sunday when I bought a chocolate crepe. So much for the "free chocolate is ok" clause.
Just did it again. Had a feckin' KitKat.
well i still have a curly wurly and half a packet of blueberry cream cheesecake biscuits. (and a full one of choc chip cookies, but if its not open i might be able to resist i said MIGHT)
so no.
