well catherine is like Mother Time at the moment. Last weekend the clks went fwd at home, then she went back 6 hours flying here, then the clks went fwd here last night, then she'll be 5 hours fwd when she goes home. Barely knows her own name.
Fun weekend. As i type mark is slightly drunkenly watching Road Trip & Catherine's reading the local rags. God i hate Tom Green.
Friday we met up with graham & megan in the duke of richmond pub. megan showed us her office. She has an office, with her name outside the door and everything. And the foyer of her building was the substitute for Trump tower last week in a life of The Donald biog film. Glitzy. then we brought fly to that den of iniquity Sneaky Dee's where she got to meet a drunk Damian. Lucky her eh? (props to damian, our newest blog reader. yoohoo damian!) Early night though, we thought we were going to Niagara Falls on saturday. But 7am saturday there was horizontal blowing sleety snow & ice pellets with zero visibility so we cancelled that fairly sharpish. me & fly went to the Bata Shoe Musum on saturday (fiona, you would love it so much!) its a deadly place, really well set up displays, lighting a bit dodgy in places. Saw all sorts of abberations like the boots of chinese bound feet ladies. My size 39's were fairly gigantic beside them. 'Specially in these
Aside:
My uncle Alfie was misquoted in the Wexford People last week, I dont know if any family noticed that. well at least i hope it was a misquote :
"Alf McGrath, Human Resources Manager, Irish Ferries, said he was pleased the matter was resolved to the satisfaction of the lady involved. Mistakes had been made, he added. He said he would like to think it was an apparition, while he would also like to think it would not happen again"
Now i'm guessing the employment of a Filipino lady at €1 an hour was more of an abberation than an apparition.
/Aside.
Then, oh lord, we went to Tiffany where Catherine quite rightly justified a purchase with the notion sure you could be waiting for years for a fella to get his act together to do the same. Surprisingly unsnooty in there. Even with me in me anorak!
Saw Bloc Party at the opera house last night. Well all the hipsters with their fingers on the pulse were out. Some of the crowd were totally mouthing every single word, realllly into it, and like, you can only ever really have been a Bloc Party fan for about 6 months max. You just know they were at Franz Ferdinand doing the same thing this time last year. And the Strokes the year before. You get my point.
Some girl practically accosted Catherine in the pub next door. She was lurking in the loo and quizzed her to see how big a fan she was cos she wanted to buy Catherines ticket off her. Great show though all the same. Lead singer lost a contact lenses halfway through. If i'd been on the ball i'd have shouted out i had a pair of minus 6's in my bag if he wanted me to come by the dressing room and give them to him. As Catherine quite rightly pointed out, i'd say he had no shortage of ladies thrunin' themselves at him on this tour. V cute young man. Back to Blue Moon then for a quick bevvie
before we headed into The Tap - where the extremely fey barman whispered 'stud' in marks ear cos he was hanging out with '2 hot chicks'. Then when Mark went off to the jacks, EFB conspiratorially told us 'that guys my god'. I neglected to tell him that if this guys anyone's god
he's mine dammit.
Today after waking up still slightly drunk without any notion what time it was we were faced with a baby shower. the good news? It was craig & julie's baby shower, so it was on in Sneaky Dees! Rockin. I was deffo only fit for min-herals, but catherine braved a couple of beers, and mark? Well, we've come full circle now, and like i said, Marks drunk on the couch.
good night sleep tight.
ps. i'd say all our grannies are having a field day up in heaven now the pope is there. Fussing over him like mad yolks. will you have a cup of tea pope? Noreen, move up on that cloud there and let JP sit down... Do you remember me pope? I was in Phoenix Park in 1979...

Jaysus, that was a mammoth entry, well done jill, it sounds like you're having a deadly time!
Where did you get the people paper? Is it on line? Good god, if so, there's a whole world of distractions out there on line that I haven't even discovered yet
I did it - Friday evening at 7 pm until Monday morning at approximately 2 hours ago. Legless. You guys missed out on Bushmills at Craiggy and Julie's last night...ahhh god in heaven...the pain.
Hello, by the way - and welcome to my first retarded comment in your cool blog.
hello Damian and welcome to the world of Mark and Jill's blog (technically Jill's), where have you been all your life-eh!
hello hello - nice to meet you - i'd say this in my Irish accent (it's only feckin' DEADLY, wha'), but i've been told in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS that i am to cease and desist with the impersonations.
at any rate, here's a nice article about the pope, for any of you's who are interested.

What did the fly buy in Tiffany?
Sorry, anonymous should say "Sylda", it's tough trying to pretend to work and reading a blog at the same time.
