Chicago, May 30th/31st 2005

chicago seems like a cool city, its somewhere that once i wandered round it for a couple of hours i was like, okay i have to come back and do this properly. So ill add it to the impossible list of all the places we have to visit before we come home again. I only just realised looking back on the blog that i stopped after Kalamazoo, the second last gig, so heres some photos of the windy city.

Baseball-Mark-Dan-Dudley
bearing in mind this was the day after Kalamazoo I'm surprised Dudley could keep one eye open! We're at Chicago White Sox v Angels of Anaheim (I think thats their full name)

Baseball-lads-group
l-r Dan, Kris, Ryan, Dudley, Mark, Graham. Dan Sullivan is the lovely man we stayed with, Kris is Marks buddy and Pinback's sound guy, Ryan is in live Pinback, you know the other messers.

Baseball-Jill-Mark
I like baseball

Chicago Millenium Park Cloud Gate
Chicago got this new park last year, Millenium Park, Millenium in the same was that the Spire in Dublin was Millenium y'know. Anyway this thing is called Cloud Gate, we'll call it the bean, as thats what it is, a big shiny bean. You can see yisserselves, it provides a pretty awesome view of the city skyline. The park is so cool simply cos there's so much going on there. there's more picks of it in flickr.

Chicago Millenium Park Bridge
Unnecessarily long and windy pedestrian bridge also in the Millenium park. A masterpiece.

Chicago Tribune Building
This is the Chicago Tribune building. I love it because it's working the Gotham City vibe.

Chicago Mark Graham waiting
And this is where we leave the tour. The lads were just about to go on stage in the Metro in Chicago, they are all sad because it is the last night. So was I.

Touring is so much fun. Thank you Dudley for having a band that I really like and that gives me the opportunity to see so many places and drink so much free beer.
