Chicago May 31/05

Well thats it now its all over. You'll have to wait for piccies till i get back to fake home (toronto) or possibly on the road to Quebec. We're back in dan's and its all over all of a sudden.

Further to my earlier post, I had awful withdrawal symptoms from shopping earlier. On our touristy stroll we kept passing nice shops, but it was me, mark, dudley, graham & dan, and what was the one and only shop that we just had to go into? Why the Apple store of course! Mark got to talk to a genius, so should be able to sort out his cranky mac as soon as time allows. I bought some new in ear bud type earphones. My teeny Dunphy ears preclude me being able to keep the regular ones in for longer than 10 minutes without falling out. They were $39US plus whatever tax they screwed me with. Screwed Illinois right back with some dodgy counting with regard to the venue merch commission later on though so all square. Then I legged it out of there. I mean Apple stores are great, but it's hardly like I'm going to impulse buy a G5 or even some iPod socks...

I saw nada, absolutely nothing of tonight's show apart from the end. The merch was just inside the front door, the venue was up the stairs. I will freely dmit, the few nights I've gotten in a pissy mood were the ones where I couldn't just enjoy the show if I wanted. Then I found out about the reserved area for all access guests and had the best stage view of the whole place. I filmed Corpo's last hurrah playing 'This Train' with Pinback, so must still work out where to put it to link to here. Be patient, may be a post-Canada holidays thingy. That song always looks like so much fun. They could always have invited me up, I do a mean triangle.

Have to say, that was the quickest 2 weeks ever. I don't think, apart from with the Campbell family and on exchange in France, I've ever gone on holidays for 2 weeks before, but then you couldn't call it a holiday either, it was not quite that, and much more than that. I may get emotional, I found some Absolut on the bus tonight. I mean I may get emotional because I found some Absolut, not cos I'm sad. Which I am a bit though. I've never hung around so many veggies/vegans in my life. (making me consider the move more and more to be honest). I've had so much fun, but I do wish I hadn't been the only drinker on the merch stall. It made me feel like an alco, and god knows I'm a wussy drinker.

I have tons more to say about things learned about touring, about me about other people but its 4am chicago time, 5am toronto time, and 10am dublin time so its time for me to go to bed whichever way you look at it.

This post is random because I've had a little few vodkas. I'll be off to brush my teeth now and leave the window open in the hope that Rock Star Mark might add a few words...

I reckon Rock Star Mark is getting too big for his blog.
That was only a joke.
