new tattoo:
1. inner left wrist
2. small of back
I'm erring on small of back, for coverup ability. That is the sensible place. But I really like tattoo's on the inside of the wrist.
The phonelines are open. I haven't anything so sophisticated as an actual votey thing, though I'm sure it would be easy enough find one, so you'll just have to do it in the comments.
by Jill Rock (as Mark Rock doesn't like tattoos)
PS. it's not large or offensive or particularly multi-coloured. That's all you need to know.
AFTERTHOUGHT
Also this guy doesn't like blogs. But I like his page so I'll forgive him. Besides which, I agree with a bunch of stuff he says - like people with 10 millions links down the side of their blog - I'm interested in you, but I don't want to be you, so I'll just look at your main page and maybe 2 or 3 of your links ok? And every 5th word on a blog actually being a link. That's really annoying. I can only forgive that amount of linkage on Wikipedia but it's an encylopedia, so generally cross-referencing is a good thing. As for getting mentioned on a network television, well I doubt that's ever going to happen as I am simply not opinionated enough...

Wrist.
Small of back is for girls fashion accesory tattoos.
If you want to see what tattoos suit girels then have a look at www.suicidegirls.com (for research like!)
Small of back. What if when you are 40 you decide that you really don't want to publicly display body art, isn't wrist a bit obvious. I reckon small of the back, although girly, is better
i think that the small of back is popular with women as opposed to upper arms, stomach, thighs, chest etc because it won't suffer the effects of pregnancy weight gain so bad. but you'd know more about that than me!
it is very popular, but I like the symmetry of it, and think that the small of back is a very attractive body part (area?)
wrist: 2
back: 1
I agree and also it is shown subtly - not in your face, but during the finer summer months when wearing skimpier clothes.
Am very easily distracted today. Working from home to get a piece of work done (that I was working on til midnight last night).
Having difficulty maintaining my healthy eating diet when exhausted and disinterested. Started with my healthy veggie juice (now updated to include beetroot) and homemade muesli. I reckon my lunch time I'll be drinking diet coke & bars of chocolate.
Okay - back to it. Only have 4 hours until deadline.
all my clothes are low enough to show it all year round. as much as my other one anyway - which still gets spotted every now and then and i like when people remind me it's there. ...thing is, i really want it on the wrist. anyway, i'm not rushing into it, gonna wait another month or 2.
I like the wrist too. It just depends on the size- if you need to cover it a bunch of bracelets or a clunky watch will do.
The sneak peek factor of the small of the back does have its appeal though- the leaning over and it peeking out.
I don't know- I've never made up my mind myself therefore tattoo-less. Tasteful not cheesy is the best thing.
RTE had a vox-pop programme on about tattoos last night. Your man O'Gorman walking up to people around Dublin, starting conversations about tattoos. But then I take it you're not going for the "did it myself with pen ink & a needle in the Joy. Sure I had a lot of time" option. On the plus side, they did show someone having one removed by laser which didn't seem too bad.
The small of your back should be reasonably pregnancy-proof - although your current one won't be.
If it's small enough, it might be easier to cover up the wrist one with a watch strap. But I'm going to show my age and say "none of the above".
Hello Jill.
Don't get anymore tattoos. Just get Mark to write "Rock!" on you from time to time. That's very cool.
When is this impending pregnancy?
Also, Emma, are you making these health juices yourself, as I would be very interested in a beetroot juice recipe. I love beetroot.
Ian Ommo has the bestest wrist tattoo ever. I don't think they are the social no-no that they once were.
for beetroot juice, I just have 1 carrot, 1 stick of celery, some cucmber, 1 apple and 1 raw beetroot. that's enough for one glass. You could probably leave out the apple for a stronger beetroot taste, but I'm still getting used to the taste of it, so I'm weaning myself in with an apple combo
yeah see mum doesn't know about tattoo no.1 (on left hip) or tongue piercing (is she blind?) so her seeing the wrist would be fun. Mammy's little soldier boy has a tattoo too which she knows about so she'd get over it pretty quickly. Dad knew about both tat & piercing, but he took that secret with him!
Thanks Emma, it sounds strangely nice (bar the celery), I'll be trying that one out.
just get full sleeves. go on. do it. you know you want to.
and while i'm at it cover my entire body with leopard spots. yeah that sounds like me.
It has to be the wrist, unless you really want to look like a reality tv "celebrity" clone.Lower back on gurls is just amazingly common.Inside of wrist says,'Huh?...Yeah,thats right,i do have a tat...and?",as opposed to the lowerback saying,"I tink tatoooahs ar kewal and ...can ya spare some change fer da child ,ma'm".
It's like Jennifer Finch V Jennifer Lopez
or Ani DiFranco V Abi Titmuss
Henry Rollins V Tabby
heh...heh....I'ld like to see those celebrity death matches
hmm, i think the inside of the wrist is increasingly common (i'm playing devils advocate to myself here). It's something I've noticed very frequently her in Canada, though the proportion of young ladies with tattoo's here is waaaaay higher than in Ireland.
shite i found some page yesterday with millions of celebs with them on their wrists that i can't find now- i was surprised and a bit put off by the trendiness of it. The only one i can remember now is Avril feckin Lavigne
thanks for the input keep it coming!. Lisa, none of the above isn't an answer, try again.
fi? sylda? fly? rach? paula? any of the home-ladies besides KK have thoughts on this?
I know "none of the above" isn't the answer you wanted to hear but when you've just send a tv programme where half the interviewees seemed to have tattoos to commemerate dead relatives, mostly based on photos, it's difficult to remember that they can be tasteful.
Dialogue snippet:
"he was only 20",
"may I asked how he passed away?",
"he choked in his own vomi'"
< insert sympathetic phrase here >
Is this a uniquely irish phenomenon?
no check out 'Shaine' - 4 people have him, and 'my father my hero'. I saw a dog called Shogun too.
I'll get Ella will I?
Paddy O'Gorman is mad.
Ashlee Simpson has a new wrist tat- Love in script
well, i would hope that would settle it. NO WRIST TATTOO. unless it says "HATE" to cancel out Ms. Amazing-Natural-Talent's wrist.
have you decided on a parlour yet Jill? ask ulie where she got hers done - apparently, the woman who did it is one of the best in T-dot.
goddamnit - i must learn to proof read- i meant Julie of course. I don't know any Ulie's.
I thought that was a nickname, Julie-ulie.
ha ha check it out

Oh jesus they are gross.
anthony don't be giving mark ideas.
they're pretty funny alright
funny, as in "funny-in-the-head" funny, right...?
like with personalized licence plates, company names/corporate logos should only be allowed if you actually own the company. Then you can boast. I saw a woman with a 'PRADA' licence plate last week, which begs the question - why? Your car is not Prada, you are not Miuccia Prada (presumably)...
Did you see his movie of getting one of the tats done, and all the photos of his macs? Tsk.
I only posted this as a comment so i'd have 30 comments for the first time ever...Now if you're lucky I might even post a new post tonight.
just to make it 31 - the 2nd episode of new Ricky Gervais series Extras has just been on. Featuring Ross Kemp and Vinny Jones. Completely hilarious. Nearly wet myself laughing...
