one of those annoying link-filled posts

Mark is off on tour with Dudley & Joss on monday morning, for 5 weeks. I'm going along for 2 weeks, but I'm arriving in San Francisco the day before they're due to play there cos i really wanna see the city. So so far I've booked my flight, accomodation, and an evening time Alcatraz tour. Woohoo! Even so, I was a bit cruel to Mark and adjusted a Miffy postcard I found in the UofT bookstore to just twist the knife slightly about his heading off without me.

Miffy

However in the time between he leaves and and I join him I'm planning seeing the National Ballet of Canada outdoors at the Harbourfront, visit the AGO again, get 1 of my 2 proposed new tattoos, see at leastRed Eye (love Cillian Murphy) and Broken Flowers. So I think I'll be fine.

Okay the link thing stops now. It's distracting to write, so probably worse to read. Nice chilled out day today, but pretty productive. We went to Aunties & Uncles for brekkie - I will miss that place when we leave. We went to Soundscapes on College then so I could buy Mark a cd (for an upcoming undisclosed event on August 25th). And sure while we're in the area, we called up to Craig, Julie & Levon and went to up No Frills so I could get the makins of spinach gnocchi - including about $15 worth of various cheeses - should be yum. (Paul if I master it I'll make it for the McGrath family at some point).

Im back to the gym too, today I went for two reasons - to get a chance to read the UK Cosmo that the girls left behind for me and to work off in advance the home made cookies Julie gave us this afternoon. She also gave us tomatoes from the garden, the sweetest yellow things ever - had one on a bagel with avocado - yum! Really though, we just wanted to take Levon home, he was the cutest little smiley thing today.

Picked up an issue of Vice magazine for the first time in aaaaages today. I'm confused about their feelings about animal rights, this one issue alone contains: an article abusing city dwelling dog owners; an article about a two-faced (literally) kitten (died very quickly google gemini the kitten); a fashion shoot featuring kittens dressed up and; a feature on getting a dog from the pound and doing him up like some celebrity lap dog. Never mind the junkies doing the fashion shoot in another issue. I'm not sure what their angle is most of the time. But most eye catching, was a major 'Do' in their 'Do's & Don'ts' section featuring a lady wearing the exact same "high-tech minimalist flats" as me. In case your interested, I bought them in Urban Outfitters in New York last december. It's not on the Vice website yet. That's how cool I am. Or not cool, you never know with them they're just so yeah but no but yeah but no but hip.

The tornado didn't strike downtown Toronto, but there was lots of flooding about. We escaped. Am glad the girls left on Thursday though, cos most flights were grounded yesterday from Pearson. Guess they're not taking any risks in bad weather anymore!

I am officially getting on the Sudoku bandwagon as of today. I keep seeing it in the paper every day, thinking hmm, they look like the magic squares we did in maths in first class (?) but then forgetting about it. Sheila had a book of them and was raving about it, then Julie showed me that website and I said feck it I'll give it a go. I actually want to be addicted, I think a book of them (easy level mind) could be great for the upcoming long drives on the road. Next thing you know I'll be reading the Da Vinci code.

We're supposed to head out with Liam once the Jays beat the Tigers - it's in extra innings though so it could be a while. This post may yet get longer.

so when are you heading off? What cities are you going to be travelling to? Have work been okay giving you the time off?

Oh Jill you are truly a modern lass, with your independence from the male and all. Think of all the things you'll get done. They are but a distraction after all.

p.s. Big massive new Habitat opened there on College Green a couple of weeks ago, it's lovely!

Ah Miss Fly I am still waiting for the underground rave to open in Dundalk so this'll have to do in the meantime.

Ooh it was gorgeous on Saturday, perfect day for a concert!

ah basement jaxx the fun i've had. poor ol mark wanting to go see the rock but we weren't together very long so he said alright i'll skip rock and watch you jump about like a mentaller instead. Chance of that now!

the "high tech minimalist flats" are the most boring black basic ballet flat type things ever! They just fancied the girl in the photo.
