Greek lamppost

Ah, another fun filled saturday. i have become one of those annoying camera people. But don't you thank me for it afterwards?

yesterday:
pool
danforth
grahams
tap
jen & jasons.

today:
hangover.
blog.

So anywaay, Taste of the Danforth (website is a bit shit don't bother) is a Greek Festival. The Danforth is the massive Greek bit of Toronto. Claims to have the biggest Greek population outside Greece - I thought that was in Melbourne but am not motivated enough to go find out the truth right now. We decided to go out there in the afternoon, cos its supposed to get crazy packed later and at night, as we saw evidence of that when we were fighting the newly arriving crowds to try and get into the subway to leave. We ate between us: 2 corn on the cob, spanokopita, souvlaki, some deepfried stuff, and a couple of pastries. Yum.

My biggest disappointment was not hearing Zorba the Greek wafting on the air anywhere. We did see this guy though.
Karaoke Elvis

I'm sure if the white tracksuited Elvis gig doesn't work out, Money Mart will be happy to give him an advance on his paycheque.

It's also good to see that in a sprawling multicultural metropolis like Toronto, they have the same crappy decrepit fairground rides that they have at the county fair in Portumna, or Ballyshannon, or Athy.

As for this one, well, I dunno why the Strawberry Fair in Enniscorthy hasn't picked up on it. Though, they don't look like Wexford strawberries to me....mmmm, Wexford strawberries...

After all the sun and food we needed a break so we went round to Grahams, cos he has all the best toys. Graham and Mark worked on their music, man. Mostly that involved playing 'Jump'

Graham made us watch some Mystery Science Theater 3000, which, frankly, is 90 minutes of my life I will never get back. So it was pub time.

Rounded the evening up, and contributed mostly to the hangovers we have today, by popping round to Jen and Jasons over at High Park. A quick game of Baby Left, Baby Right* got the party going (Remember that game from TFI Friday?)

Oh Levon, in 7 weeks you have provided more entertainment than, I dunno, 10 seasons of Seinfeld.

*we didn't actually play this. no bets were taken or babies exploited for our entertainment

See the thing about Baby left, baby right is that the baby has to be just the right age. Too young and there's no suspense. Too old and you could grow old waiting for them to topple. So I didn't realise it at the time but Chris must have had to have a supply of just-learning-to-sit babies for that game. February was the ideal time for Ella!

ah sure Levon was like what's this sitting up lark? I think propping up was more the name of the game.

I think maybe TFI had just a couple of babies that they filmed lots of times?

Levon is huge, are you sure he's only 7 weeks? They didn't have him hidden away for a couple of months before that?

Appearently he's off the charts in terms of growth. The Guinness Book of Records beckons I think...
