Is this as bad as those group mails?

MARK.
I hear Alan Moran writes smart blogs, must check his out. ANYWAY, so here we are, Canada was so long coming and now I can't believe we've been here nearly 6 weeks. We've figured out a few things since we arrived: long johns are very cool, avoid the draught ale and most importantly Kraft dinners are a gift from yahweh.

Not working yet, but intend to sort that out this week. Seems to be multimedia companies out there but they appearently don't answer phones over the xmas. Pricks. My first taste of New York (we were there for 5 days in Dec) was sweet. We stayed at the Chelsea Star Hotel from mad cheap (thanks Caitriona). If any of ya'll every go to NY i'd highly reccomend it. We dashed around the newly opened MoMA, got up the Empire State for free (thanks Fiona Sylda and Mark) and saw an odd improv gig in a small club in the East Village featuring members of Sonic Youth. Got me some cool musical stuff there too. And my new guitar arrived from New Mexico just before christmas. YAY! Graham and I intend to start kicking out the jams over the coming weeks. Have to say i miss playing with humans, but theres a Mackey on most land masses so I doubt I'll ever be stuck.

Impressions of Toronto: I really only started forming a proper opinion of the place after New York. We are dead lucky where we live, Queen St is choc full of nice places to eat and drink, it's got two great guitar shops and a top record shop called Rotate This which had, as far as I could tell, every Melvins album. This is unusal and very very good. The art gallery of Ontario is literally a stones throw away. We keep hearing that Ontarians have "issues" but everyone seeems so friendly, and not in that waitress way. Simple things like If you drop your hat on the subway 5 people will make sure you know you've dropped your hat. It was great coming back from NY, which is great but full of rude people in a rush, to Toronto, full of friendly folk in a rush. We also visited this place called Casa Luca which was recently voted the most beautiful building in T DOT (thats hip hop for Toronto btw). It was crap. Full of kids and really noisy. its not even 100 years old. Don't know why we bothered, I found it depressiong.

Oh yeah, we got Graham and Megan trivial persuit for Christmas. Now I'm not smart but I not as thick as this game made me feel. Every question I got began with "What small Arizona town.." or "What former Boston Bruins player....". Jill kicked everybodies ass, but she kept getting questions like "Spell 'Jill...'". By the time we moved on to Cranium I was to drunk to redeem myself. Christmas day with Graham and Megan was superb though. My first away from my family and without Nana Jordan and I couldn't have asked for better company.

This blog thing was Jills' doing by the way, I like the idea of it but I may forget its here and never post again.

Happy New Year,

Feck ye both anyway, I just wanted to send a little note to let you know that people were actually reading your ramblings and I ended up having to create my own blog to do so! Was tortured into choosing a name and everything on the spot, that was very sly lads.
I don't know how I feel about the blog idea, it just feels a wee bit stange, but sure we'll see, I reckon thats what Carrie in Sex and the City was writing, doubt she really ever got published in a magazine.
Anyway will chat to ye on the messenger, hope all is ok there, warming up here only -18 today. One of the guys at work described it as 24 degrees of cold one day, technically a mistake but a very apt description in my view,
well smell ye later,
slan
