she bangs! she bangs!

for the last ooh, 10 nights or so, at approximately 2215 the evenings usual cacophony of barking and sirens and shouting has been counterpointed by the surprisingly loud bangs and pops of a firework display miles away at The Ex. The CNE, the Canadian National Exhibtion. I don't really know what it is - some kind of fancy Funderland. There's got to be more than just Hurdy Gurdys, cos everyones really into it. Well everyone that is, except anyone I know. But I don't know that many people, anyway I digress. So, when we bought our little silver beauty Nikon Coolpix 4100 and I had a burst of enthusiasm I saw there was a setting for taking photos of fireworks. (There's also a beach/snow setting - for the glare I suppose - and one day when we went to the Beaches there actually was snow everywhere well I had a field day with that one) Last night, I took many glorious photos of the fireworks. This morning not ten minutes ago I managed to erase them all permanently. So this post is just a double negative. You should just ignore it.

So i've nothing to show for my monday. I watched the 2 hour season premiere of Prison Break and ate maltesers. All I can say is KK - Mal is going to love it. I shouldn't have, I'm really into it now, and I'm going to miss the next 2 weeks. God damn you, eh, wait a sec. Salt Lake City and Boston. That's where I'll be the next 2 mondays you see. There's probably a 6pm curfew in SLC so I might get lucky. Oh yeah and the lead guy is only beauts. Did I mention that?

I spoke to Mark at the Atomic Cantina, Albuquerque, New Mexico last night. After I spoke to the lady behind the bar I immediately pictured the bar in Coyote Ugly. Not that I've seen it.

Mary Kate and Ashley Olson are on the Much Music live show this evening. As I walked past the City TV building to work thius morning there were already people queuing for the audience. Why? What do you do with with MK & A? Prod them with sticks and see if they break? Seriously, what do you even ask them: um what did you have for dinner? Starbucks & marlboro lights. and the previous night? same. Thats a lovely woolly cloak you have on you - woops watch out your giant sunglasses are getting tangled up in the 6 metres of beads and scarves round your neck - who made that? Eh, I found it at Starbucks.
I might have to watch it to see if I'm right.

ps. what's Funnel Cake?

aren't they (funnel cakes)deep fried dough with sugar or honey on them? somewhat like a whale's tail or beaver tail

really? I had a much more literal image of them. Spongey funnels that stood on the skinny end defying gravity. I've never had a beaver tail, i kept seeing them in Ottawa, but I'd always eaten too much everytime I passed to have one! They looked yum though.

ahhh, the Olson Twins. the physical, earthbound manifestation of god's impartiality to my peace of mind.

way to go with the camera there Jill! perhaps when you catch up with Mark you can delete all of the files there too!
